Lady Death Demonicron Playing Ravenheart
Haunted swordsman. Touch of death. Second pad, same room.
Ravenheart is the co-op partner in Lady Death Demonicron, not a palette swap of Lady Death. Official pitch copy calls him a haunted warrior armed with a savage sword and the touch of death, then asks whether even his strength will be enough. That sentence is flavor, but it is also a kit hint: he is the heavier lane, not the aerial crowd-clear. This page is for the person holding Player 2’s pad.
Steam community threads already ask who the second playable character is. The answer has been Ravenheart since marketing started. Extra allies may join later as unnamed story recruits. Until those names hit a character select screen, do not invent a third fighter, and do not assume Evil Ernie is hiding in a code.
What he is, and what he is not
He is local. Steam lists Multi-player, Co-op, Shared/Split Screen Co-op, Shared/Split Screen. That combination is two people on the same machine. Steam lists shared/split-screen only — no Steam invite across a city, and no matchmaking queue. If your friend is not on the couch, you play Lady Death solo. Read the co-op guide before you buy a second pad you will never sit next to.
He is not confirmed as a full solo campaign character in public materials. Marketing frames him as the partner. Confirm the retail select screen on 31 August 2026 before you plan a Ravenheart-only Platinum. A PlayStation Platinum exists; trophies disable while cheats are active, the same as they do for her.
He is not a reskin. Store text gives him a savage sword and the touch of death. Lady Death owns scythe throw, reveal detonation, levitate, and six special sword states. Do not both grab the same pickup and then wonder why the stage feels empty of toys.
Kit, as public copy allows
Art of Play has shown far more of Lady Death’s sixty-move card than of his. That is a documentation gap, not a reason to call him worse. Until a combat card prints his motions, treat this as a job list rather than a frame list.
Heavy sword lane. Stand on the brute. Razorbacks, shield demons, and anything with a fat health bar are your problem. Her reveal is wasted on a single target you could have chopped.
Touch of death. Official wording only. Do not invent a one-hit aura or a counter that ignores block. If retail footage shows a grab, a curse, or a finisher unique to him, this page will name it. Early Comic-Con demos still lacked grapples for the roster as a whole, so do not assume he starts with Final Fight throws.
Anti-armor. Riot Guards sit in night-city and industrial sets. Sidekick, throw, or a committed heavy string beats punching a helmet. If your pad is an Xbox layout, use the same D-pad discipline the controls page demands for her specials.
Grounded bodies. Jump kick is still the anti-floor tool. His sword will whiff on a Crawler belly just like her standing punch. Map jump and kick so you can land on corpses without a grip change.
Meter. Split-screen HUDs show per-player portraits, life numbers, and blue bars. His specials will fail silently if the bar is empty. Infinite power from the cheat sheet is a practice tool and still flags trophies until you restart.
Pickup etiquette
Special swords are scarce. The flaming blade is one of six states on her HUD. If both of you vacuum every drop, you will both sit on mediocre steel.
- She takes scythe-adjacent and crowd-clear pickups.
- He takes raw damage blades.
- Nobody touches a pickup the partner is already walking toward.
- Health and meter go to whoever is about to drop a life.
One-hit kills and extra speed from the sheet are rude in co-op if your partner is hunting achievements. Agree before the stage. Details of who even owns the sheet sit on editions.
Stage jobs
Cemetery / prison gates. Let her learn the walk cycle from getting started. You hold the first Razorback so she can see an Overkill. Do not steal the corpse.
Hell pits. Crawlers plus shield demons. You break armor; she detonates stacks.
Metal festival. Crowd density goes up. She levitates. You keep the center so the camera does not strand her on a speaker stack.
Dinosaur catastrophe. Draptors hop. She anti-airs. You stay on skeletal brutes and do not chase every flyer across lava.
Industrial nightmare. Riot Guards and catwalks. Extra speed makes split-screen worse. Leave that cheat off.
Call targets out loud. Overkills credit the player who lands the special. Double-Overkilling one elite wastes the combat layer.
Demo warning
Some demo slices were Lady Death only. If a second pad does nothing in the June 2026 build, you are in a solo slice, not a broken install. Retail marketing has always included him. Wait for digital launch on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox (31 August 2026) before you write the partner off. Switch digital is 11 September 2026; dock it, because handheld split-screen will be cramped. Physical Switch and PS5 copies that ship from November 2026 are the living-room version of this mode.
Story function
The pitch puts him at her side while she is torn between realms. Demo dialogue has her calling his name at the gates. He is a story ally first, a couch fighter second. Unnamed recruits may join later; they are not extra online seats and they are not a reason to skip learning his heavy lane.
If you only own one pad, you still play as Lady Death. Ravenheart matters when a second player sits down. Bring the pad or play solo — Steam’s flags do not offer a third option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for launch week, the Steam demo, and co-op nights.
Is Ravenheart playable in single-player?
Public materials frame him as the co-op partner. Confirm the retail character select on launch day. Do not assume a full solo campaign for every fighter.
Can I play Ravenheart with a friend in another city?
No. Steam lists shared/split-screen co-op. You need two players in the same room. See the co-op guide.
How is his kit different from Lady Death?
Store copy gives him a savage sword and the touch of death. She owns scythe throw, reveal, levitate, and six sword states. Treat him as the heavy lane until a full move card is public.
Can I use cheats while playing as Ravenheart?
If your edition includes the sheet, yes, but trophies disable until you restart. Read how to enter codes before a Platinum attempt.
