Lady Death Demonicron Special Sword States Ranked
One flaming HUD icon. Five unnamed. No fake names.
Billy Deakin said the HUD sword in his Level 1 playthrough is a flaming blade, and that it is one of six special sword states you pick up through Lady Death Demonicron. Digital Standard’s 10-page combo move-book is advertised as including all sword powerups. This page ranks what the public camera has actually shown, then stops. It will not invent ice, poison, lightning, or “chaos” names to fill a six-row table.
Read the Tiers Hub for the S/A/B rules. Move rankings — reveal, scythe throw, levitate, jump kick, block — live on the moves tier. Swords are pickups. Moves are inputs. Do not mix those columns.
What a special sword state is
In Deakin’s commentary the flaming icon sits in the top-left of the HUD. Collecting that sword gives a superpowered attack to get you out of a jam. He said those pickups stay for the rest of the playthrough and for future playthroughs in that build’s rules. Treat a special state as a persistent modifier, not a three-second Golden Axe pickup that vanishes when you eat one hit — unless retail later proves a drop timer. We will correct this sentence if 31 August 2026 footage shows swords timing out.
The flaming blade is not her starting steel. It is a state you find. Demo players who assumed slot one was always on fire were reading a HUD from a developer tape, not a guarantee for the cemetery gate.
IGN’s summary says you earn new swords and uncover brutal finishers across 15 beat-em-up levels. That matches Deakin. It still does not name the other five.
Public rank: flaming sword — S (provisional)
Why S. It is the only special state with a visible icon, developer narration, and a clear job: a superpowered attack when the lane is losing. Industrial screenshots already splash OVERKILL while a blue scythe arc cuts a Razorback; fire deaths are one of the listed Overkill styles in the combat guide. A flame state that feeds those animations is the correct boss and elite tool until another named blade appears.
Fail cases. Do not spend it on a single Crawler. Do not assume it replaces jump kick on grounded bodies. Do not assume it is always in slot one for Lady Death and Ravenheart at the same time. In co-op, one flaming pickup should not be stolen if the partner is already walking to it.
Unknowns inside the S. We have not seen a dedicated motion list for “flame mode” versus her default sword strings. We have not seen whether flame consumes extra blue meter. We have not seen whether it changes scythe throws. Those are open questions, not hidden S+ facts.
The other five — unknown, not D-tier
There are six states. One is fire. Five are unnamed in every public interview, Steam page, and screenshot caption we can cite. Possible jobs you should expect, without pretending we have icons:
- A reach or projectile blade for far Riot Guards.
- A crowd blade that overlaps her reveal so you are not starving one resource.
- A anti-air blade for Draptors on the dinosaur fields.
- A defensive or heal-adjacent state, because hands-on footage already triggered a heal.
- A raw-damage state that belongs on Ravenheart’s lane.
Those are hypotheses for routing the walkthrough, not rows you should tattoo on a tier graphic. When the combo move-book, the 8-page strategy booklet, or a launch patch names them, this page gets six named rows. Until then, unknown is the honest grade.
Default steel — A as a baseline, not a trophy
Her starting sword and his savage sword are not “special states.” They are the beat-em-up layer. They are A because they always exist, they feed Overkills when you spend meter, and they fail if you mash against hopping elites. Ranking default steel S would make the pickup system pointless.
Scythe is not a seventh sword state. Vertical slice, horizontal slice, and throw are weapon attacks on her card. See moves for throw value.
Co-op assignment
Special swords are scarce. House rule from the co-op page still applies:
- Lady Death: crowd and scythe-adjacent states.
- Ravenheart: raw damage states.
- If only the flaming blade has dropped, she keeps it unless he is already holding a better unnamed drop — which, before launch, he will not be, because those drops are unnamed.
Infinite health and one-hit kills from the codes hub make every sword look S. Turn them off if you are using this list. Extra speed makes pickup hunting easier and boss reads worse.
Demo versus full
Deakin said that tape only included one of the special sword attacks. The demo and early Comic-Con builds are the wrong place to declare a six-weapon meta. Demo versus full is the reminder. If your June 2026 slice never shows a flame icon, you are not in his developer tape. Wait for the 15-level drop on 31 August 2026 (Switch digital 11 September 2026) before you call the sword system shallow.
How to practice swords without lying to yourself
- Clear the opening gate from getting started on default steel only.
- If a special state drops, use it on the next elite, not on fodder.
- Note whether the HUD icon persists after a death. Persistence is the difference between a Golden Axe toy and a campaign modifier.
- If you own Deluxe Hardcore, do not enter cheats for this test. You want trophy-legal feel.
Physical Standard’s 8-page booklet and Digital Standard’s 10-page move-book should be the first documents that name the missing five. This wiki will copy names from those sources, not from guesswork. Until those pages are in our hands, the swords tier is one S, a default A, and a block of unknown. That is stricter than a pretty graphic, and it is the only version that will still be true on launch morning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for launch week, the Steam demo, and co-op nights.
How many special swords are in Lady Death Demonicron?
Six special sword states. Billy Deakin showed a flaming sword HUD icon as one of them. The other five were not named in public footage.
Is the flaming sword always equipped?
No. It is a pickup state, not a guaranteed starter. Demo developer tapes showed the icon; your cemetery gate may start on default steel.
Will this page name the other five blades?
Only after the combo move-book, strategy booklet, or launch footage names them. We will not invent elements to fill a table.
Who should take sword pickups in co-op?
Crowd states on Lady Death, damage states on Ravenheart. See co-op for the full etiquette.
